Another beautiful visit! This was our fifth vacation at bass lake cottage, once in the fall, once over Christmas, and twice in August.  We enjoy the warm swimming,  stunning trees and huge green lot overlooking the water.   The fancy kitchen, new windows, wood fireplace, new playground and basketball court were such nice surprises when we returned this year.  We have asked the owners many times if they will sell us the cottage, we love it so much.   Hope they will agree one day.     

What a lovely and welcoming home with beauty and character throughout.    We are honoured that our extended family had the opportunity to stay with you, and find your cottage to have tremendous value and very reasonable rates.  The singing birds,  the unique shapes on the trees, the beautiful calm quiet lake, and the huge firepit on the water was a real treat.  Thank you thank you thank you Stacey for treating us like a part of your family, and making sure every little personal detail was taken care of.  

We have stayed at Bass Lake Cottage for 8 years in a row, always in June before the summer rush.  Each visit, we find something new and special for the first time, whether it’s a local outing  (this year’s treasure was hiking in Grant’s woods 10 minutes away) – or a great new patio (Quayle’s Brewery local music and fish tacos) – or a special corner of the lot discovered (this year, flowers near the hammock popped up).  The cottage continuously rewards us and we won’t go anywhere else.  This year was a real transformation.  The new designer kitchen is gourmet friendly, the windows and doors are bright and the outside looks like a completely new build.   Bobby always wants the lakeside bunkie and I choose the master bedroom with oversized deck so I can see the sunshine over the entire lake in the mornings.   It’s absolutely perfect for us, and we say thanks for having us year after year.

We visited Bass Lake Cottage through a friend’s recommendation after searching for months.  Such a rare treasure, we can’t believe this piece of paradise exists within such a short drive from the City.   It has the beauty and surroundings of Muskoka,  the tranquility of the Kawarthas, the friendliness of Prince Edward County and the conveniences of home wrapped up in this perfect, luxury, convenient home filled with special touches that are a designer’s dream.  The cottage lot and waterfront is so large and private that we could host a family reunion with hundreds and still not fill the land or waterfront.  The kids roasted marshmallows, enjoyed the sandbox, went kayaking, fell asleep in the hammock, bird watched, played on the huge swingset, beat us in basketball, and treasured hide and seek.  And the guesthouse was our favourite feature for my in-laws with their own space and separate deck right at the waterfront, that felt like a classy and upscale bed and breakfast.   See you next year, same time, same place.

WOW!!!  We are a group of essential workers who made it through a very difficult COVID year and needed a refresher getaway.  The owners kindly donated Bass Lake Cottage for us to regroup and focus on ourselves.  Everything is brand new and nicer than our homes.  The huge windows, spectacular views, gorgeous gourmet kitchen, and the breathtaking sunsets.     We sincerely appreciate the incredible generosity and compassion shown by Stacey’s family. 

Words can not express our gratitude for you allowing us to stay in your cottage.  My husband and I loved a wonderful week with the birds, the trees, and oh, that spectacular sunset on the dock.  When I swam in the warm and calm lake, I was able to forget our challenging year.  This mini-vacation was so needed.  We will always remember your kindness and generosity.  

Our family visited Bass Lake Cottage this fall.  This home was the perfect getaway from the pandemic.  The outside and waterfront is huge (really huge, three cottages could fit on this property) and reminded us of my grandparents’ place in Muskoka.  Everywhere we looked, there were tall trees, and the most incredible view of the lake I have ever seen.  The inside was gorgeous, and so was the new bunkie with another deck was perfect for my teenagers.  Stacie and her family made us feel so welcome and thought of everything – they were such a pleasure to communicate with.  The trees had just changed colours, and we enjoyed daily walks at the Provincial Park a few minutes away.  The location was so useful, minutes from town if we needed anything.  Our family is grateful to have found our own special place of paradise.  

Winter wonderland…….Bass Lake Cottage is our favourite place to stay hands down.  We have spent March Break three years in a row.  The kids play hockey and skate on the lake right in front of the cottage, and last year we learned how to snow shoe for miles on end…….we roast hot dogs at the large outdoor firepit, and thank goodness for the tobogganing down the driveway which entertains everyone for hours and hours.  We were never bored…..we ski at Moonstone and went snow tubing at Horseshoe close by.  Our family lakehouse is shut down during the winter,  so we are planning on this for our annual retreat.

“We have just come back from a wonderful weekend at the cottage on Bass Lake!  The interior of the cottage is tastefully decorated – from the stone fireplace to the spacious and comfortable sitting areas. The kitchen is well equipped and everything is clean and well-organized. The windows provide a beautiful view of the lake and the new, large deck is the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or watch the spectacular sunset. There are many activities near the cottage – hiking at the provincial park, walks on the country roads, and a farmer’s market in town.  Bass Lake provides the perfect setting for a peaceful canoe. The hosts of the cottage were gracious and welcoming. They provided us with additional information about the cottage and nearby areas of interest. We have rented cottages over many years across the province and our vacation at the cottage on Bass Lake was a highlight.  Thank you again for such a lovely and memorable weekend!”

“Our family had a wonderful week long stay at Bass Lake Cottage this summer.  The owners were incredibly gracious and welcoming, which added to the experience.  The cottage is clean, spacious yet cozy, and very well-stocked.   Outside is beautiful with a great deck, fire-pit, sand-box, dock, and of course the lake!  Being close to so many amenities is a huge bonus along with all the lovely trails/beaches nearby. This is a perfect family cottage.  We look forward to our next stay!”

“This cottage was a perfect place for 8 adults.  The kitchen was really well-equipped.  The open concept made it ideal for meals, visits, sing-a-longs, games, movies etc.  There was lots of seating space.  The beds were comfortable and we managed to get ready for an afternoon wedding on time — all 8 getting access to the 2 showers.  Although it was a bit early in the year for swimmng, we enjoyed our time on the huge deck and the evening BBQs. Some of us did venture into the lake or relaxed on the dock.  The owner provided great information about restaurants, highlights and events.  It was an easy 10 minute drive,  or an enjoyable cycle or run into town — if you are so inclined!  I would recommend renting this location.”

“We enjoyed our stay at Bass Lake; it was exactly what we were looking for.  The location was perfect. We were close to amenities and yet the cottage gave a feel of being away from it all.  The lake was quiet and the lot was private, we did not really notice the neighbours.  Beds were very comfy – loved the guesthouse.  The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed and it was nice and cool inside despite the hot weather.  The new deck was great and trees provided much needed shade on those hot afternoons. Lots of space for entertaining family and friends.  Everyone enjoyed the lake which was warm and nice for swimming…We would have loved to use the fire pit by the lake but unfortunately a fire ban was in place during our stay.   Beautiful sunset views from the deck and the dock.  Lots to do in the area – golfing, farmers market, Leacock festival, hiking trails.  Nice family vacation spot.”

“We stayed at Bass Lake Cottage for a long weekend in early September, and were very pleased with the rental. The cottage is very comfortable and furnished just as a cottage should be, plenty of seating, and we appreciated the large dining table for meals with our family group.  It is well laid out and the sunroom area gave beautiful views across the lake, especially at sunset, and we loved the new front deck which stretches across the front of the cottage and is huge. Bathrooms are a good size, the kitchen has enough working space, and best of all the beds are extremely comfortable, which isn’t always the case with rentals.  The bunkie with it’s waterfront deck is quite charming, and the lot is treed and private…We enjoyed our stay at Bass Lake very much.”
